Funny Name, Proud History
The Foldertown business district has been a popular shopping destination on the east side of Michigapolis for over half a century. Originally situated between the factory headquarters of Snugsheet, Inc. and Folderian Office Products (once the 4th & 5th largest manufacturers of folders for home & office use, respectively), this 1.5-mile commercial strip remains as vibrant as ever.
Foldertown offers a little something for residents, visitors, and commuters alike. There are specialty shops serving our diverse immigrant communities. Night clubs and coffee houses attract the young, hip crowd. It's as walkable as a shopping mall and boasts almost as many stores!
Beloved older establishments endure here, having weathered everything from factory closings to destructive tornadoes and chemical spills. New businesses open all the time and, as we head into the new millennium, we're poised to keep growing. Whether you're looking for fashionable clothes & furniture, unique gifts, delicious dishes, discount items, or a fun night out, Foldertown has it all!
